About the artist

Jamie Bradbury

Born Toronto, 1981
Based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador

Working across painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, and moving images, Jamie Bradbury explores how histories, environments, and technologies shape what we see.

His practice moves between close observation and speculative image-making. The Black Atlantic considers Black histories and futures through archival absence and material experimentation. Traces of Us observes the entanglement of human and animal worlds. Pleasure Systems examines the relationship between pleasure, surveillance, and contemporary attention.

Bradbury’s Jamaican and Newfoundland family histories inform his engagement with the Atlantic as a space of memory, movement, and connection.
